8 February 2008

The Multicultural festival of Canberra (from 8 to 17 February) will welcome a Bulgarian group for a third time in the capital of Australia

This year’s performance of Bulgarian might be determined as “a folklore tornado” of dances, music and songs from all parts of Bulgaria.

Upon the personal invitation of Mr. Domenic MICO – Artistic Director National Multicultural Festival, Bulgarian ensemble “Varna” will perform folklore dances of different regions of Bulgaria, as well as Kukeri dance, a thing that has never happened at the festival before.

“Varna” Ensemble’s trip is sponsored and supported by the Australian-Bulgarian Association “Mladost”, Canberra, directed by Doncho Milenov.

The group will take part in the festival and also give a separate concert.

They will also perform in Sidney, Melbourne and Adelaide.

The concert of “Varna” ensemble in Sidney is organized by "Pero Entertainment”, directed Nina Milanova. “Rodina” Bulgarian-Australian organisation with CEO Blagoy Blagoev, supports the concert in Melbourn. The concert in Adelaide is supported by Bulgarian organization with CEO Ivan Nenov and the cooperation of Dimitar Beliovski.

Along with the participation of “Varna” ensemble the gaida player Krassimira Churtova will take part.

Bulgarion trio “Jiva voda” from Brisbane will also perform.

Moreover, “Mladost” association will make an exhibition of Bulgaria – tourism brochures, true Bulgarian handmade cookies.

There is nothing better than showing to the world that we, Bulgarians have many things to be proud of.
