Yove malay mome
Bulgarian folk song
Performed by: Hristina Boteva and Zornitsa Orchestra

Povela e Yova, lele, dva konya na voda.
Povela e Yova, lele, dva konya na voda.
Yove malay mome, lele, Yove malay mome.
Yove malay mome, lele, Yove malay mome.

Pa si edin poi, lele, s voda razmatena,
a drugiya poi, lele, s voda izbistrena.
Yove malay mome, lele, Yove malay mome.
Yove malay mome, lele, Yove malay mome.

Shto si konya poi, lele, s voda izbistrena,
to si i e konya, lele, na miloto libe.
Yove malay mome, lele, Yove malay mome.
Yove malay mome, lele, Yove malay mome.

The CD consists of 25 performances - Bulgarian instrumental folk music for dances. Dances of all ethnographical parts of Bulgaria are included. What is a priority to these recordings is the authentic sound (no composer's intervention). The dances which are included in the CD are part of the educational programme of Balkanfolk'98 - an annual practical seminar for Balkan folklore.
It is the Zornitsa orchestra who plays - gaida, kaval, gadoulka, tamboura and tapan. The unique melodies of Pirin (21, 22, 23, 24, 25) are performed by the marvelous Selim's group for zurna playing, settled in the village of Kavrakirovo, close to Petrich.
