Folklore Dance Panorama embarked on 6 June at the Ancient Theatre of Plovdiv. The opening concert started with the dancers of Trakia ensemble and the iconic dance of Kiril Dzhenev ‘A Dance Impression from Dobrudzha’. For the first time on stage along with the professional ensembles, the ensembles Iglika, Sedenchitsa and Slav Boykin performed. The entire program showed 15 dances from all the folklore regions of Bulgaria. The youngest performers, Slav Boykin ensemble and Iglika ensemble, despite the great challenge, managed to overcome their excitement and presented three dances. The artistic temperament and pure synchronicity of Sedenchitsa dance group made them the audience’s favorite. Their performances of ‘Pusta maldost’, choreography by Emil Genov and ‘Shopska suita’ by Dimitar Dimitrov were exceptionally professional. The Academic Folklore Ensemble showed their particular and outstanding style in all the compositions but the most fascinating was their performance in ’Igri v Shopluka’ by Stefan Yordanov. Trakia folklore ensemble delighted the spectators with the compositions ‘First Meeting’ and ‘Wedding’ by Daniela Dzheneva. The finale increased the excitement at the Ancient Theatre during the performance of the song ‘Pitat li me dei zorata’ (If One Should Ask me Where the Dawn). All the ensembles on stage and the standing ovation joined the choral performance. By lot, the donation for participation was given to Trakia Ensemble, Iglika Ensemble and Sedenchitsa Ensemble. Ensemble Slav Boykin and Academic Folklore Ensemble from Plovdiv will participate in the annual donations of Bulgarian Dance Foundation.
