Balkanfolk Workshop (Seminar) - History
Since 1997 Balkanfolk Workshop has been held every year in Bulgaria. Bulgarian dances and dances of 2 or 3 other Balkan countries are included in the programme each year. Moreover, traditional folk instruments, Bulgarian folk singing, Bulgarian language and other training courses are offered to participants in the workskop. Teachers in the workshop are professionals in their area from the correspondent countries.
During the five seminars in the programme were included:
- Bulgarian folk dances, Romanian folk dances, Serbian folk dances, Macedonian folk dances, Turkish folk dances, Greek folk dances, Albanian folk dances, Armenian folk dances. - Traditional folk music instruments: gaida, kaval, tamboura, tapan, tarambouka, gadoulka. - Bulgarian folklore singing and Serbian folklore singing. - Bulgarian embroidery, Bulgarian language

Participants: 18 people from Australia, Finland, France, Israel, Japan and Norway.

Trips To: Plovdiv, Smolyan and Shiroka Laka.
