The Cork International Folk Dance Festival has, since its inception in 1995, brought folk dance troupes from some of the most diverse cultures throughout Europe and the world to perform in Cork.

In 2005 Cork City was the European Capital of Culture. In celebration of the event the festival staged groups from as far afield as Brittany, Canada, Cornwall, Croatia, Denmark, Germany, Lithuania, Poland, Sardinia, Sicily, Scotland, Holland and The Philippines. Visiting Irish groups including Siamsa Tire from Tralee, Co. Kerry and Gleann na Rí from Co. Kildare.

This year we host groups from Georgia, Hungary, Mexico and Poland along with local Irish groups from Douglas, Carrigaline Cork and Youghal.
